Academy of User Group Sciences -- User Group Academy Awards

UG ACADEMY AWARDS

__ No computer club or user group is too small or too large to make a big difference in the advancements of technology in their local communities. Each year the User Group Academy selects those local organizations who make a difference in the lives of their memberships. They've been called the "Oscars of the Computer User Community," for print and digital media creators and publishers in the world of nonprofit computer organizations.
__ "The UG Academy is the only true, community-centered entity in the industry." said Fred Showker, executive awards coordinator of The Academy. "We're thrilled to be able to provide the community's best and brightest a chance to get their organization's work celebrated. Our goal is to discover and honor the unselfish efforts of those in service of their local organization memberships."

The UG Academy Awards are the leading creative honors for nonprofit computer clubs and user groups. The user group awards began in 1990 with "The Johnny Appleseed Awards" and were renovated in 1995 as the UG Academy Awards. Today the UG Academy is a partner organization with The Association of Apple Computer User Groups the global umbrella organization for clubs which focus on the use of Apple Computers and technology products.
